Maria Benedicta "Bennie" Garcia Griego, 85 of Santa Rosa, NM, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on Thursday, March 22, 2018, following an illness.
Bennie was born in Borica, NM to the home of Estevan Garcia and Amelia (Casaus) Garcia.
She attended school in Borica, NM and in Albuquerque, NM.
She married Charlie A. Griego on April 23, 1983.
Bennie made her home in Santa Rosa where she worked in the hospitality industry for many years, retiring in 1992.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She spent a great deal of time with her family and friends.
In addition to the many happy hours spent with family, Bennie enjoyed embroidering, reading, working on crossword puzzles and dancing. She also enjoyed listening to New Mexico music on 89.1 and watching Western movies.
Bennie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charlie in 1993, great-granddaughter Trudy Destiny, and her sons; Andres and Billy.
She is survived by her
