OBITUARY - Clair Wissinger Sr.

Clair Wissinger Sr., a retired maintenance electrician at Ford Gum in Akron, died Tuesday (Aug. 10, 1999) in Lockport Memorial Hospital after being stricken in his Wolcottsville Road home. He was 68.

A native of New Paris, Pa., he retired from Ford Gum in 1977. He also had worked at Flintkote in Lockport and at Nabisco for 28 years.

He was an honorary member of both the Terrys Corners and Wolcottsville volunteer fire companies and was an enthusiastic supporter of fire company activities. He moved to Wolcottsville from Lockport 39 years ago.

His hobbies included fishing, hunting, camping and country music.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, the former Verna Heiple; four daughters, Verna Hilton of Jonsbough, Tenn., Cindy Myers of Newport News, Va., Carol Golding of Akron and Marie Stanton of Lockport; three brothers, Lee Kipp and Orland Kipp, both of Lockport, and Bernard Kipp of Fishertown, Pa.; a sister, Alice Blackburn of Fishertown, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main St., Gasport. Burial will be in Cold Spring Cemetery, Lockport.
