Darlene Lucille Dunker, age 90, died Monday March 19, 2018 at Oak Terrace assisted living, North Mankato. Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday March 22, 2018 at Mankato Mortuary. There will be time to visit with the family one hour prior to the service. The burial will take place at a later date in Minneopa Cemetery.

Darlene was born October 23, 1927 to Henry and Dena (Meinjohans) Hemmelrick in Alcester, SD. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, dancing, spending time with friends and especially her family. She lived the past 12 years at Oak Terrace where her quick witted personality left a lasting impression with all the staff.

Left to treasure her memories are her sons Edwin (Judy) Jobe of Lake Crystal, MN, Rodney (Yolanda) Bangert of Coppell, TX and Terry Bangert of Mankato, MN. Ten grandchildren, Robin, Gina, Bob, Tally, Serina, Dena, Heather, Susan, Walter and Tanner, as well as 15 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, brother Wayne Hemmelrick, sister Connie (Bill) Engstrom and many more extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, daughter Ellen (Bob) Evenson and son David Jobe.

The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to the staff of Oak Terrace for the outstanding care and compassion Darlene received during her time there.
