Born in Akron on January 7, 1919 to the late John & Christina Steger, Anna Marie was a lifelong area resident. She had her first job at Mary Coyle and worked at Goodyear during WWII making rubber rafts. A longtime, active member of St. Francis de Sales, Anna Marie loved her bible study group and sang with the funeral choir. She also participated in the Altar & Rosary Society at the former St. Peter Parish in Akron and Meals on Wheels. She was an award-winning bridge player and loved to dance. Anna Marie was well-known for her brownies and birthday cakes and was a talented seamstress. Always elegant and sophisticated, Anna Marie was a kind and thoughtful woman and will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Anna Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John. She is survived by her children Mary Ann (Ralph) Gault, Kitty (Skip) Scherer & John (Carol) Munka; grandsons Ralph (April), Christian (Jamie), Daniel (Sarah), Andrew (Robyn), John, Michael (Darya), Nicholas, Benjamin, & Maximilian Gault, Nathan (Lindsey) Putzier, Alex Munka & Austin Seaman; granddaughters Anne (Seth) Rowell, Catherine (Joe) Shackford, Katiann Scherer, Katrina Scherer, Rachel (Kyle) Hammer & Nicole Patton; great-grandchildren Grace, Harrison, Jack, Sam, Maximilian, Jacob, Evelyn, Anna Marie, Leah, Grady, Abraham, Ruth, Ashley, Liam, Benjamin, Farah & Sebastian; and many nieces & nephews.
