Batesburg - Andrew Paul Cockrell, 66, of Batesburg, died Sunday August 8, 2004. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday August 11, 2004, at Mount Ebal Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Reverend Bill Paulling will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Mount Ebal Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Sandy Ridge Fire Department. Mr. Cockrell was born in Batesburg to the late Julian and Cora Mae Burkett Cockrell. He was a member of Mount Ebal Baptist Church and the Sandy Ridge Fire Department. He was a textile employee at the Graniteville Company for 37 years and worked as a weaver at J.B. Martin Company for 7 years. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Cochran Cockrell; daughters and son-in-laws, Paula and James Goff; Andrea (DeeDee) and Michael Kaiser of Batesburg; brother, Doyle Cockrell of Batesburg; grandchildren, Candace Marie Goff; Joanna Nicole Kaiser and William Andrew Kaiser. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Tuesday, August 10, 2004, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home. Other times at his home.
