Margaret Ellen Stike
Hockessin - Margaret E. Stike, age 97, of Hockessin, DE passed away peacefully on March 13, 2018. Born in Ashland, DE, she was the daughter of the late Ellen (Hanna) and Archibald Armstrong. She attended A.I. Dupont High School and went on to work at the NVF Corporation during WWII. In addition, she worked as a clerk at J.C. Penney for 15 years. She was a member of Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Howard Stike; her son, Robert Stike; her daughter, Lois Miller; her brothers, John and Stephen Armstrong; and her sister Martha Attalian.
Margaret is survived by her son, Howard Stike Jr. (Brenda) of Newark, DE; her daughter Donna Jarman (Stan) of Middletown, DE; her grandchildren, Henry Miller Jr., Robin Dugan, Holly Reynolds, Christine Miller, and Jennifer Stike; and her 10 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday March 21, 2018, from 10-11 AM, with services beginning at 11 AM, at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will follow at Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 500 McKennans Church Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, 100 W 10th St #209, Wilmington, DE 19801.
