Eula Groenier Gavin, 93, died Sunday in the San Diego Scripps Hospital in San Diego, Calif., of complications suffered following surgery for a fractured hip.

Mrs. Gavin was born in Mississippi in 1888, the daughter of Louis and Mary Courtney Groenier. Her father died when she was very young and she lived with Henry and Ella Christian and was raised by them in Greensburg. She graduated from high school here and from Indiana University, and was a registered nurse. She served as a school nurse in Greensburg for a number of years.

In 1920 she married an Episcopalian clergyman, Dr. Frank Gavin, and he preceded her in death in 1938. Survivors include three sisters: Mrs. Frank Russell, Greensburg, Mrs. Wilber Kendall, Martinsville and Mrs. Ed Lewark of Rushville; two daughters: Mary Christensen, Levittown, N.Y., and Jane Drake, Los Vegas, Nev.; two sons: James Gavin, San Diego, Calif., and William Gavin, LaJolla, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held today at the St. Andrew by the Sea Chapel in San Diego. Memorials may be in the form of contributions to the Eula Gavin Memorial Fund of the St. Andrews Church.
