OBITUARY.
DIED—On the 29th ult. Ann Eliza, infant daughter of Wm. L. and Frances Harris,
Sweet one--’T was hard to part,
We loved thee well,
None but a parent’s heart
Our grief can tell.
With anguish low we bend—
But Jesus wept
When o’er his chosen friend
Death’s watch was kept.
We miss thy cherub smile
Around our hearth;
Thou wert but lent a while
To us on earth;
And He who gave thee life
Recalled it soon
Ere care, or sin, or grief
Had soiled His boon.
Till the last fearful day
In holy trust,
Thy little form we lay
Deep in the dust—
Yet to His Holy name
Be glory given
We meet our child again
Redeemed in Heaven. L. A. D.
