Marie T. "Sis" Busbey, 88, entered into God's eternal care Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Hospice of Palm Beach County, FL. She was the wife of Laverne J. Busbey Sr., who died January 18, 2013.

Born October 19, 1927 in McSherrystown, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Ethel A. (Hirt) Miller.

Sis was retired from Velma's Dress Shop, Hanover and also worked at the Hanover Hospital and Autocraft Box Co. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the VFW, CWV, McSherrystown Moose, Hanover Home Assoc. and the church Altar and Rosary Society. Sis also served as Chairlady of the Adams County Democratic Committee.

Surviving are three children, Laverne J. "Buzz" Busbey, Jr. and his wife, Donna of N. Palm Beach, FL, Deborah M. Mummert and her companion, Mervin Dubbs of Hanover and Michael J. Busbey and his wife, Melissa of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Kirby, Aaron and Alicia Mummert and Joelle Redding; eight great-grandchildren, Dakota, Christopher, Derek, Jacob, Gage, Aiden, Avery and William; four siblings, Marion Bange, Mary Lou Smith, Ethel Ernst and Barbara Bixler. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne M. Strickler; a grandson, Sean Strickler; and three siblings, Philip, Cyril J. and James D. Miller.
