A private family celebration will be later for Mildred Taylor Jernigan Johnson, who died March 1, 1997, at age 102.

Mrs. Johnson was born Feb. 13, 1895, in Portland. Her maiden name was Taylor. She graduated from Jefferson High School and Oregon Normal School. She taught English in Scappoose. Her husband, Floyd W. Jernigan, died in 1943. She later married Lynn D. Johnson; he has since died. She was a Christian Scientist and held offices in the church.

Survivkors include her son, William G. Jernigan of Newport; daughter, Mildred L. Talbot of Salem; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Disposition will be by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to a charity of choice. Arrangements are by Riverview Abbey Funeral Home.
