Mr. William Curtis Diggs, age 90, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at CMC Anson in Wadesboro, NC.

Funeral services will be 2:00PM Saturday, March 17, 2018, in Lilesville Baptist Church with Rev. Teddy Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in Lilesville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary prior to the beginning of the service beginning at 12:30PM.

Born in Anson County on September 3, 1927, Curtis was a son of the late William Coleman and Clara Brooks Diggs.

He served two years in the US Army before the start of a long, gratifying career with Seaboard railroad and later retiring from CSX.

Curtis was a proud lifelong resident of Lilesville. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Frances Jordan Diggs and two sisters, Vidas D. Eddins and Elizabeth D. Monroe.

Curtis is survived by two daughters, Judy D. Edwards and her husband, Dane, of Peachland and Cecelia D. Usrey of Kernersville; six grandchildren, Chris Edwards (Tonda), Candace Lamonds (Tracy), Lori Parham (Todd), Sarah Swain (Todd) and Hank Usrey (Meredith); and seven great-grandchildren, Jake, Brad and Will Edwards, Taylor Griffin (Kendall), Grace and Jack Parham, and Adelyn Usrey.
