Elfreda was born July 1, 1926, in Youngstown, the daughter of Rudolph and Gertrude (Homer) Meuser.
She had worked at Packard Electric and retired in 1982.
Elfreda was a devoted member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Girard, where she served on the Altar Guild and the Worship Committee. She enjoyed sewing and was a member of a sewing guild.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Nancy (Rick) Strattan of Gainesville, Fla., Phyllis Rentz of Hubbard, Susan (Bob) Rentz of Hubbard and Douglas (Beth) Bacon of Niles; her grandchildren, Rob Rentz, Jennifer Ganser, Kevin Strattan, Kiaran Brooks, Lisa Bacon and Lesley Chuirazzi; and her 14 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Elfreda was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Bacon, whom she married Sept. 28, 1944, and who died Sept. 6, 2005.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 16, at 1:30 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. Elfreda will be laid to rest at Tod Homestead Cemetery next to her husband.
