Amanda C. Bly, 91, of the 200 block of Dominion Blvd., died June 2, 2000, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

She was born in Fairfield County, S.C., and was the widow of Rufus Bly. She was a member of New Light Baptist Church, Chesapeake, where she was a missionary and Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of Golden Age Senior Club and many other church organizations and activities.

Survivors include a sister, Mary Rebecca White of Elgin, S.C.; 23 nieces and nephews, including one devoted niece, Alberta Jenkins of Hartford, Conn., and two devoted nephews, Lindsay White of Blythwood, S.C., and Officer James Jenkins of Hartford, Conn.; and a host of cousins, in-laws and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in New Light Baptist Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Ajack Scott and the Rev. Charles Green. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon Tuesday. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
