Jacob A. Berglan, 70, died at his home, three miles north of Amboy, Friday night at 8:55 o'clock following a three years illness of complications.
Mr. Berglan was born in Auspion, Iowa, May 4, 1869, the son of Andrew and Wilhelminia Burglan. He was married at Araphoe, Okla., in 1908 to Flora A. Finnegan who survives. He was a member of the Asbury Methodist church, west of Wabash and had been a farmer his entire life. He moved from Wabash county to the Amboy community 11 years ago.
Surviving besides the widow are one son, Harry of Wabash; two stepsons, Walter and Roy Finnegan, both of Wabash, three brothers, Peter and George of Norman, Okla., and Albert of Henrietta, Okla. And four sisters, Mrs. Emma Graham of Colony Okla., Mrs. Odessa Gibbs of Slick, Okla., Mrs. Sarah Hardestry of Cushing, Okla., and Mrs. May Chitwood of Tulsa.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Pleasant Grove Methodist church, north of Amboy and burial will be made in the Matlock cemetery, north of Wabash. The body will be removed from the Gene Lairy funeral home in Amboy to the late residence Sunday morning, where friends may call.
