LaVone Birt, 102 passed away peacefully with her family and the Lord by her side at Bethesda North Hospital. LaVone was born August 20, 1921 in Verona, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ray and Ruth (McGriff) Besecker. LaVone and her husband Wayne owned and operated Birts General Store in Rossburg.
LaVone enjoyed spending her time playing cards, she was creative person who enjoyed painting, creating flower arrangements, and writing poetry.
LaVone is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Janet Keith; her brothers, Gayle, Don, Verlin, and Gene Besecker.
LaVone is survived by her daughter and son in law, Melanie and Chris Clinton of Asheboro, N.C.; her son in law, Michael Keith; her grandson and wife, Brenden and Xandi Clinton; her great grandchildren, Olivia and Elijah Clinton; her sister, June Linder; and her sister in law, Helen Besecker.
A private graveside service will be held at Holsapple Cemetery with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Rossburg United Methodist Church.
