Lonnie Lee Sattler, age 63, of Elwood, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Community Parkview Health and Living following extensive health issues.
He was born in Elwood on September 16, 1954, to the late Earl E. and Ruby (Shaw) Sattler. Lonnie was a 1973 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School. On November 3, 1975 he married Rhonda (Wright) Sattler and they shared more than 42 years of marriage together. From 1977 to 1984 Lonnie served in the Indiana National Guard. Lonnie was formerly a transmitter operator at LeSea Broadcasting for many years. He was a member of the Madison County and Hamilton County amateur Ham Radio Clubs. Lonnie formerly enjoyed riding his motorcycle, music and messing around on his computer. While staying at Parkview he really enjoyed listening to Elvis hymns and was known for loving everyone. More than anything Lonnie enjoyed being with his family especially his grandsons.
Lonnie is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda (Wright) Sattler of Elwood; son, Gary (wife Kacey) Sattler of Elwood; daughter, Anna (husband Aaron) Gillam of Windfall; son, Chris (fiancée Catina ) Sattler of Alexandria; grandsons, Mathew Sattler, Jordan Thurston, Jayden Gillam, and Peyton Gillam; brother, Earl P. Sattler of Elwood; sister, Olive Duffit of Indianapolis; brother, John Sattler of Ireland; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Gary Sattler.
