Mrs. Joseph V. Hill, a resident of Seward from about 1884 until about 1910, died in Chicago Thursday of last week and the remains were brought here for burial, short services being held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. W. Fisher, at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. H. W. Hansen of the Federated church. Interment was made in the family lot in Seward (north) cemetery. Services were also held in Chicago Saturday afternoon. The deceased had attained the age of 87 years. Surviving her are four daughters, Mrs. Fisher of Seward, and Mrs. F. S. Morris, Mrs. Harry Barton and Miss Meda Hill, all of Chicago.

Those who accompanied the remains to Seward were Mr. and Mrs. Morris, Mr. and Mrs. Barton and children, Miss Meda Hill and Mrs. Catherine Johnson and daughter, all of Chicago. F. R. Mandeville and son Harry of Grand Island and Frederick Mandeville of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, were also present at the services held here.
