Illness Is Fatal Today to Mrs. S. C. Carruthers
Mrs. Blanche McCue Carruthers, 68, a life-long resident of this section, died at 2:45 a.m. today at her home at 366 Chestnut St.
Mrs. Carruthers, who was born in Mentor Township, helped organize the World War Mothers in Painesville and served as president of the organization several times. She was a member of the First Church, Congregational, and had been active in the Womans' Christian Temperance Union.
She leaves her husband, S. C. Carruthers; two sons, C. C. Carruthers of Rittman and J. W. Carruthers of Painesville; and several nieces and nephews and other survivors.
Funeral services will be held at the Nixon Funeral home, 176 N. State St., at 1:30 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. W. A. Warren officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
