His affiliations include First United Methodist Church of Lucedale, Navy Veteran, Former Manager of the George County Farmer's Co-op, Owner of the George County Farm Center, Jaycees, Rotary Club, Free Masons, Served on the George County Hospital Board, Served on the Governor's Task for Economic Development, Charter member of the Lucedale Country Club, and First Farm Bureau Insurance in George County.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 61yrs, Edna Juanita Holly Easterling; his beloved daughter, Phyllis Lea Easterling; and parents, Van Buren Easterling, Sr. and Rhoda Ellen Merritt Easterling.

He is survived by his children, Vanita Easterling of Mesquite, TX, Patsy (Gary) Jones of Fairhope, AL, Van (Madeline) Easterling, III of Lucedale, MS, Heather (Anthony) Bonney of Clinton, NC; grandchildren, Thomas and Evan Easterling of Mesquite, TX, L. Renee (Andy) Well of Flower Mound, TX, T. Derek (Pamela) Jones of Frisco, TX, Deborah Leah (David) Clawson of Fayetteville, AR, Bethany (Andrew) Patch, Suanna (Ben) Kendrick, and Ashton (J.D) Blankenship all of Lucedale, MS, Gabrielle Bonney of Clinton, NC; great-grandchildren, Garrett and Ryan Webb, Brandon, Cameron and Jared Jones, Amanda, T.J. and Max Clawson, Ella Patch, and Zoe and Jorgia Blankenship; sister, Alice Maureen Beasley and brother, James Billy Easterling of Katy, TX.

Visitation will be at George County Funeral Home Parlor Friday, September 18th from 6-9pm. Mr. Easterling will also be in the church at 10am for visitation prior to services. Services will be Saturday September 19th at 11am, First United Methodist Church of Lucedale, Rev. Don Russell, with interment following at the Church of Lucedale Magnolia Cemetery. George County Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
