The daughter of Frederick and Jane (Ashley) Nelson, widow of Louis Sanders, and wife of Samuel W. Abbott, Artie resided on West Kentucky Street and was a homemaker. She died at Sts Mary & Elizabeth Hospital six days after suffering a stroke, and was interred at Louisville Memorial Gardens on 23 November 1955.
