Died after being an invalid due to a lengthy illness. Cousin of Col. Enoch Avery. Married twice, survived by one daughter from 1st wife, Mrs. Chaney Green, and four children from his second wife Mrs. M. Knapp of Cross River, Mrs. Leander Mead of South Salem, Elbert M., and Emma Jane Avery of Cross River. A resident of Lewisboro for over 50 years. Rev J.H. Eastman of the M.E. Church presided over the services.
