Kara Rebecca Blevins, age 27 and her unborn daughter, Myla, both died tragically and unexpectedly after last being seen in the Akeley area on February 2, 2017.
Kara was born on March 12, 1990 in Park Rapids to Danny Blevins and Connie Dickinson-Leckner Grimler. She attended Nevis Public Schools through the 11th grade and then graduated from the St. Cloud Tech High School with the Class of 2008. Kara then went on to attend Northwest Technical College in Bemidji where she studied nursing. On November 20, 2013 her life was blessed with a daughter, Amelia Ann. After Amelia was born, Kara gained employment with North Star Orthodontics in Park Rapids where she worked in customer service. On July 4, 2015, Kara was blessed with a second daughter, Meredith Rochelle. After her birth, Kara returned to her job at North Star Orthodontics. Kara loved working with her hands refurbishing furniture, crocheting or doing scrap book. She also enjoyed hunting for and collecting agates. Above all, she loved being a mom. Kara had a faith in Jesus that was growing and blossoming in her love for her Savior. She enjoyed getting to know other young Christians at the Faithbridge church and most recently had been attending the East Side Christian Church where she loved to worship and grow in her knowledge of Christ’s love and forgiveness.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters: Amelia Ann and Meredith Rochelle; her mother, Connie (Thomas) Dickinson-Leckner Grimler of Akeley; her father, Danny (Sherrie) Blevins of St. Cloud; her three sisters: Crista Blevins of Bemidji, Kena Blevins and Danielle Blevins both of St. Cloud; her two brothers: Scott Dickinson and Bryan Dickinson both of Park Rapids; six step-siblings: Roy, Brent, Travis and Whitney Grimler of Akeley and Mikayla and Brandi Healy of St. Cloud, MN; her maternal grandfather, James Leckner of Park Rapids and the love of her life, Scott Abernathy of Marble, MN.
