Fort Worth - Gloria Joyce Dotson, 91, entered into the Lord's presence on March 1, 2018.
We celebrate her life and her desired reunion with her beloved husband of 69 years, William Neal Dotson, Jr. who walked with Jesus on May 2, 2016.
Joyce was born April 25, 1926 in Fort Worth.
She was a graduate of Durham's Business School and also received a degree in Floristry in Dallas. She was a designer at Gordon Boswell and later owned her own floral boutique for 12 years. She also worked as secretary to the assistant superintendent for Instructional Services at Fort Worth ISD. She was a past president of the Garden Club of Fort Worth and under her leadership the club donated an aquarium as an educational program to the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens for surrounding schools. Her long church history began at Trinity Methodist Church and then at First United Methodist Church of Granbury. Later upon relocation to Fort Worth, they were very faithful members at the then Ridglea United Methodist Church. Her latest love was her final home, Stonegate Nursing where she earned the name of "Flower Lady". God filled the gap of her husband's absence with a loving staff and daily flowers she arranged for residents, staff and family. Her capable, dedicated and hard-working ethics followed her all her life and the floral arrangements testify to her God-given talents and her love for beauty. This lady will be missed!
Survivors: Daughter, Deborah and husband, Jim; grandsons, Brad and wife, Sarah and Doug and wife, Rachel; great-grandchildren, Mary Jane, Molly, Madeline and Maxwell; and many devoted and loving friends.
