Jean L. Dickey peacefully passed in her sleep late in the evening on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Miller's Merry Manor in Plymouth, Indiana.

Jean, who would have been 90 in March of this year, had been living in Plymouth for the last ten years. She was formerly a long-time resident of Marion, Indiana, having lived north of that city since 1967 with her husband, Richard Dickey, and their family. Unfortunately, Mrs. Dickey had been struggling with accelerating health challenges the past few months. She was generally comfortable and alert to the very end.

Jean enjoyed numerous visits from family and friends the last three months she had been a resident at Miller's. Most recently, just prior to her passing, she enjoyed several family members visiting from four different states. Jean loved her family and people in general. In fact, on her very last evening, she escorted another resident down and back from that night's meal. On her way back, Jean was heard to exclaim that they had finished eating and was now serving as "eyes" for her friend and co-resident.

Preceding her in death were her first husband, Jack Stewart, in 1953, and her last husband, Richard Dickey, in 2006. Jean was also preceded in death by Richard's daughter, Debbie Falcone.

Survivors include seven children, Kris (Tom) Myers, Plymouth, Indiana, Matthew (Jodi) Dickey, Carmel, Indiana, Patrick (Cathy) Dickey, Greenville, Tennessee, Rick Dickey, West Hollywood, California, Shannon Austin, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Linda (David) Hutchinson, Cardiff, California, and Francine (Phil) Cook, Manhattan Beach, California, as well as six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family will have a memorial visitation and memorial service March 10, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Pastor Mick Simpkins will be officiating.
