Death Notice for Sara Jane Allen
We regret to inform you that Sara Jane Allen of Lewisburg, age 77, closed her eyes for the last time on Friday, February 23, 2018, at NHC Oakwood. She was the daughter of the late Annie Pearl and Edward Brown, she was a devoted member of Second Avenue Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Kevin Allen, her sister Laura M. Brown and two brothers, Milton and Bobby Brown.
She graduated from Jones High school in Lewisburg, Tennessee. She was employed by Genesco Shoe Company and Faber-Casteel until her retirement. She will be missed and remembered with loving affection.
Sara Jane Allen is survived by her husband, Grady Allen, one son, John Douglas Allen, her devoted nieces, Lisa Brown and Carletta Webster of Lewisburg, along with several other nieces and nephews; her brothers-in-law: J.W. Allen of Pulaski, and Charlie B. Allen of Lewisburg; and many relatives and friends.
Lie-in-State will be held on February 27, 2018, from 6 PM until 8 PM at the Lewisburg Family Life Center, 426 Heil Quaker Avenue in Lewisburg. Visitation and Viewing will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28th at Second Avenue Church of Christ. The Funeral service commences at 12:00 noon following visitation with committal and interment to follow in Alsup Cemetery.
