Donald Edward White, 69, died at 5:40 PM Monday, May 12, 2008, at Regency Place, where he had been a patient for two months, following ill-health since January. Born Sept. 12, 1938, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Leonard and Mildred (Sheetz) White, and a graduate of Jefferson High School. He married Kathleen A. Aper, in Lafayette, on June 23, 1972, and she survives.

Mr. White was an Army veteran. He worked in the tool and dye department al Alcoa for 18 years, and later worked for Sears for 13 years as a division manager in appliances. He was a member of St. Paul Community Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles, American Legion Post 11, and 40&9 Voiture 364.

Surviving with his wife are his children, Jeffrey Allan White and Kristie (husband Dan) Dowell, both of Lafayette; two stepsons, Gary D. (wife Teresa) Foreman of Louisville, KY, and William T. (wife Heather) of Lafayette; three sisters, Fran (husband Michael) Alkire, Marilyn Galloway, and Martha Northrup, all of Lafayette; and 13 grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Ronald E. White.
