Jaime Rose was an active, beautiful 11 year old who loved dancing, cooking and art. When she began having severe headaches, her mother took her from doctor to doctor trying to find out what was wrong, as her headaches became worse. In May 2014, the family consulted a pediatrician who sent Jaime for an MRI scan. The results showed Jaime had medulloblastoma, a fast-growing brain tumor. After eight hours of surgery, six weeks of radiation and a seven-month chemotherapy program, she was finally confirmed to be in remission in early 2015. But in December 2017, she relapsed and the cancer was shown to have spread over a wider area of her brain. After treatment in South Africa, the family relocated to Vienna, Austria. In Vienna, the General Hospital of Vienna was the medical institution best suited to dealing with this type of brain cancer. Jaime was treated by a specialized pediatric Neuro-Oncology department doing cutting-edge work on this type of tumor. There were many drives to cover the cost of Jaime's treatment, and she received incredible support from the South African community. Unfortunately, the treatment in Vienna was not successful, and although Jaime's parents searched for other places to take her for treatment, Jaime Rose lost her well-fought battle just weeks before her 13th birthday.
