Ida A. Griffith was born November 18, 1856, at Pierceton, Indiana and passed away August 20, 1941 at Stafford, Kansas at the age of 85 years. She was united in marriage to Milton R. Hillabold in May 1876. To his union seven children were born, four have preceded the mother in death. The husband passed away in May 1927. Survivors are Charles of Waveland, Ind., Mrs. Ruth Coppedge of Gary, Ind, and Esther of the home; two grandchildren Bobbie Coppedge and Harriet Hillabold; two sisters, Mrs. A.B. Shiner of Warsaw, Ind., and Mrs. Emma Braden of Marion, Ind., and a host of friends. Mr. and Mrs. Hillabold came to Kansas from Indiana in 1882. Mrs. Hillabold united with the Baptist church shortly after coming to Stafford and was a faithful member until the time of her inability. Mrs. Hillabold was a wonderful neighbor and certainly a friend in need, and until the time her health failed she was always willing to go wherever needed. Her wise and tender council will be cherished by her children. She looketh well to the ways of her household and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed. And surely when her spirit entered the gates of heaven, God said, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning, August 23, at 10:30 o'clock by the Rev. T.S. Mosher at the Peacock and Soice Memorial Chapel. Burial was in the Stafford Cemetery.
