Cookie Hawkins, 85 year-old long time Seminole county resident passed away, Friday July 12, 2013 at Seminole, Oklahoma.

She was born February 24, 1928 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to parents, Carl Vincent Boggess and Edith Evelyn (Strait) Boggess.

Cookie married Arvel Lee Hawkins on September 24, 1944. They moved to Seminole in 1952 from California. She was a homemaker who loved to crochet, canning vegetables from her garden. Cookie's largest investment was always in her family and friends.

Cookie is survived by her husband, Arvel of the home, four daughters, Shay Haworth of Naples, Florida, Joy Blanton and her husband James of Seminole, Oklahoma, Linda Moore of Seminole, Oklahoma, Vicki Webb and her husband Ron of Lindsey, Oklahoma;

eight grandchildren, Hollie Johnson and her husband Darian of Seminole, Oklahoma, Marc Hailey of Houston, Texas, Don Haworth of Moore, Oklahoma, Missy Goodnight and her husband Travis of Alma, Arkansas, Jason Blanton of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Bryan Guthrie and his wife Paulette of Seminole, Oklahoma, Kelly Hamm and her husband Chad of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Kristen Cowell and her husband Jeff or Seminole, Oklahoma.

Cookie is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and special friend Gladys Brinsfield of Seminole, Oklahoma.

Cookie was preceded in death by her great-great grandson, Trenton “Tag” Godwin on March 6, 2012.

Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
