On the 1 January 1910 at the home of his daughter Mrs James Campbell, Kansas City Mr Evan Ellis died, within 10 years of the death of his beloved wife, Although he had not been well for many years, the end came suddenly as he succumbed to a stroke. He was born in Merionethshire in 1832 & in 1883 the family emigrated from Ffestiniog to Kansas. He read a lot of the Bible & other good books & was well above average in the teaching of Scripture. He was blessed with great natural ability, & a gift of language. He left 5 children to mourn him. Mrs Jennie Campbell & Evan W, Kansas City, Mrs Margaret A. Edwards, Lebo, Kansas, and Hugh R. & Owen O., Denver, Colo. The service was held in the Methodist Calvinist chapel presided by the Rev. Todd Jones & J.T. Evans & his remains were buried at Arvonia, Kansas.
