Luciel was the second child and second daughter born to Reverend Wade and Goldie DEARMAN Ferrell. She spent her early life in Cherokee and Okema Counties, Oklahoma. In 1936, her family moved to California seeking better opportunities during the Great Depression. Her family settled in the San Joaquin Valley in the Tulare and Kings Counties area.

In 1940, on her 18th birthday, Luciel married Warren W. Berry. They were married for 61 years and suffered the long separation of Warren's army deployment in Europe. After the return of Warren in 1945, they started a family, contributing two children to the "Post-war Baby Boom".

Luciel was blessed with a loving family. She was a woman of great belief: worshipping Jesus, teaching her family love and forgiveness. Luciel was kind-hearted, smiling, and laughing, always bringing joy to those around her.

Luciel is survived by her daughter, granddaughter, three great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, two siblings, and numerous nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; six siblings; son; and grandson. We celebrate the fact that Luciel is at peace with her creator. Luciel will be greatly missed by four generations of loved ones.

A Visitation was held from 4:00--7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 28 at Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel in Lemoore. A Graveside Service officiated by Pastor Michael Frantz was held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday at Lemoore Cemetery.
