Fred Boese
Fred Boese, who was a farmer and a mill worker, died in a hospital Monday at age 87. Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Bateman Funeral Chapel in Gresham, with vault entombment in Riverview Abbey.
Mr. Boese was born in Damascus and lived all his life in the Boring-Damascus area. He had worked for Dwyer Lumber Co. and Valberg Lumber Co. and at the Summit sawmill. He was a member of World War I Veterans Barracks 2614.
Surviving Mr. Boese are his wife, Iva May; two daughters, Arlene Clark of Portland and Maxine Thoreson of Boring; three sisters, Minnie Hackett of Oregon City, Annie Cross of Milwaukie and Rose Sharnke of Gresham; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
