Funeral services for Diane ‘Lindy’ Barry, 55, Schroeder, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004 at the Zoar Lutheran Church in Tofte.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.

She passed away Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 23, 1949 in Bemidji to Rosa (Wynne) and David Jaranson. She attended school in Side Lake and later Hibbing, graduating in 1967. On Sept. 19, 1970 she married Allan Barry. She worked for the State of Minnesota Division of Parks for 33 years until retiring this year. She worked first at the Split Rock Lighthouse and later at Temperance River State Park where she dedicated her time and energy to keeping the park running smoothly and efficiently. She found much joy in building relationships with returning campers and co-workers. She enjoyed bingo, games with family, gardening, berry-picking and vacationing with Allan in Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Allan; daughter, Jennifer Rarick and grandson, Quinn of Pine City, and daughter, Michelle of Duluth; her mother, Rosa Jaranson of Side Lake; brother, Roger (Jean) and their three sons, John (children, John David, Maggie and Ethan) David and Todd (Janet) and their daughter, Makenzie; sister, Joanne (Larry) Olson and their children, Patrick, Eric and Heather (John) Hultquist; sister, Mary (Mac) Rudstrom and their son, C.O. (AnnMarie); brothers, Speedy and John; mother-in-law, Jan Barry; brother-in-law, Tim (son, Tim Jr.); sister-in-law, Dawn (children, Emma and William); and many aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; and Allan’s parents, Bob and Mabel Barry.

Funeral arrangements are with the Cavallin Funeral Home of Two Harbors.
