Theresa was the 8th of 12 children born to Simon and Marie (Schnase) Karels. She was born and died on the farm place and was buried there. Once the church and cemetery were established in Rosen, family stories say that she, (along with her brother, Anthony) was re-buried in the Church Cemetery. Her grave is unmarked and is probably located at one of the small white crosses on the western edge of the cemetery.
