William Phillip Akin, 73, of Texarkana, TX, died Monday, February 27, 2017, at his home. He was born November 10, 1943, in Texarkana, TX.
He was retired from GTE and was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Williams Memorial United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Akin; four daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and James Dickison, Penny and James Williams, Catherine and Jeremy Johnson and Jennifer and Ken Cullipher; five grandchildren, Meghan Akin, Dakota Williams, William Cullipher, Haleigh Silveira-Johnson, and Andrew Williams; one sister, Judy Burke; one uncle, Cecil Phillips; and his beloved dog, Rowdy.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 P.M. Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas Boulevard. A celebration of his life will be at a later date.
