Mr. Ray was born July 24, 1942, in Andrews, SC, a son of John Causey Ray and Sadie Bell Taylor Ray. He was currently serving on the Bonneau Town Council, and he was the owner and operator of Ray's Boiled Peanuts. Mr. Ray was an avid fisherman and was a member of several bass fishing clubs. He also enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and watching old Western movies, but he especially loved spending time with his family. Mr. Ray was preceded in death by a son, Jason Franklin Ray.
Surviving are his wife, Donna Springfield Ray; a daughter, Pamela R. Gannaway and her husband, Mike, of Andrews; two sons, Jamie Ray, II, and his wife, Tara, of Andrews, and J. Adam Ray and his wife, Christy, of Bonneau; a sister, Edith R. Cooper of Andrews; a brother, D. Legrand Ray of Andrews; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
