ABERDEEN — Thomas “Tom” Allmond, 86, died Feb. 18, 2018, at Gilmore Memorial Medical Center in Amory. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Aberdeen Church of Christ with Derrick Maranto officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at Aberdeen Church of Christ. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Allmond was born in Winchester, Tennessee on Sept. 1, 1931, to the late Hugo Allmond and Pearl Taylor Hargis Allmond. He formerly served in the United States Marine Corp. He founded and formerly owned Allmond printing company. He was a member of Aberdeen Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a member and Elder of Aberdeen Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Jean Gooch Allmond and two brothers, Sydney Allmond and Coleman Allmond. He is survived by his daughters, Veda Fritch of Augusta, Georgia and Elizabeth Welch of Franklin, Tennessee; sons, Tim Allmond of Fayette, Alabama, Ernie Allmond of Aberdeen and John Allmond of Aberdeen; sister, Annette Mize of Guntown; brothers, Ira “Bones” Allmond of Warren, Michigan and Steve Allmond of Collierville, Tennessee; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John Inmon, Terry Smith, Kevin Peters, Jim Hussey, John McArthur, Dwight McComb, Steve English and Todd Wilemon.
