She was the daughter of Russell and Anita Mae (Hurt) Hurt. Evadene graduated from Salisbury High School, class of 1947. She was an inspector at the Biltwell Clothing Factory in Salisbury for many years, quitting in 1983 due to illness. She was a member of the Salisbury Baptist Church. She loved bowling, playing the piano and organ and traveling with her husband. Evadene married David Martin on March 6, 1964, in Salisbury and he preceded her in death on March 17, 1999.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Eugene Martin of Tulsa, OK, and Terry Sohn and his wife Pamela of Kansas City, MO; one brother, Robert Drexel Hurt of Duncanville, TX; one sister and brother-in-law, Norma Lou and Kenny Sanford of Salisbury; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband and one brother preceded her in death at infancy."
