Mrs. Dorthula Thompson, 74, died Monday morning at her home on Route 1, Sparta. A longtime resident of Christian County and the Oldfield community, she was a member of the Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, William; five daughters, Mrs. Alicia Steward, 1464 North Jefferson, and Mrs. Dorothy Hagerman, 1340 North West, both of Springfield. Mrs. Ellie Mincks, Sidney, Iowa, Mrs. Betty Stafford, Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. Janie Parrish, Route 3, Rogersville. Also surviving are two sons, Carmon, Memphis, and Clarence, Farragut, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Etta Adams and Mrs. Rhonda Hodges, both of Ava; four half-brothers Bob Gray, Ozark, and Austin, Everett, and Lennie, all of Shenandoah, Iowa; a half-sister, Mrs. Clara Hursh, Tulsa; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Harris Chapel. Burial was in Old Boston Cemetery.
