Thomas, age 44, died at a hospital in Wamego after he was shot in the stomach during a dispute with his wife at his home in Louisville. He was the son of Ora E. and Fern (Humbert) Picolet. He graduated from St. George (KS) High School. He owned Picolet Logging Co. He married Ruth Armendariz in 1973. He married Donna May Martin in 1991. Survivors include his wife, his children, Jody Picolet, Kelly Picolet, and Thomas Picolet, and his sister, Karen Easterday. Services were held at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. Burial was in St. George Cemetery.
