Cecile "Chris" Schofill, 93, joined God's choir on Saturday, February 17, 2018. Services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Chamlee Memorial Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00AM and funeral service at 11:00AM. Rev. Bryan McPherson, Rev. Steve Whitehead and Tim Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Chris was number seven of fourteen children, born in Horry County, South Carolina to the late Dargain Fird Lewis and Hattie Todd Lewis. "Ms. Chris" was proud to begin a new career and become a nurse after her children were reared. She retired from Peach County Hospital. She was an active member of Chamlee Memorial Baptist Church for forty-two years. She served in many ministries and teaching Sunday School was a privilege for her.

Survivors include her children, Anne Nason of Charleston, SC, Jane O'Dell (Jay) of North Charleston, SC, Joan Berry (John) of Charleston, SC, David Schofill (Barbara) of Summerville, SC., and Margaret Bowers (Jim) of Fort Valley, GA.; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a brother, Charles R. Lewis (Marjorie) of Conway, SC. Ms. Chris also has many nieces, nephews and extended family members who were dear to her heart. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Otis Harold Schofill, a son,Otis, Jr., a daughter, Rose Marie and three grandchildren.

Chris was passionate about her loves which included her Lord, her physical and spiritual families, her yard with its fruit bearing and flowering plants and spreading the good news of salvation. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations designated to the Lottie Moon offering either through your own church or through Chamlee Memorial Baptist Church, 1502 Knoxville St., Fort Valley, GA 31030.
