Jack Dennis Cornelison, age 61, of Acworth, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016.

Jack was the type of person who was family oriented and loved his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. He enjoyed his family trips to Ellijay where they would pick the freshest apples from the apple houses. His immediate family shared their birthdays within almost a month of each other and Jack would be sure to bake everyone their own elaborate cake to celebrate - one of his specialties was his triple chocolate brownie cake.

Jack also enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar and banjo, collecting and reading the "Peanuts" comic strip, maintaining and collecting coins, and sharing a joke to keep everyone laughing. He probably would've spent every day doing these activities if he could have.

Jack was a hard worker and was quite a dedicated employee. He worked as a career meat market manager at Battle's Food from the age of 12 until his late 40's when the company had closed. After that, he worked as a maintenance worker for the Cobb County Board of Education for 17 years until retiring only weeks ago.

Jack Dennis Cornelison is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Cornelison; his brother, Brannon Cornelison; and his sister in law, Jean Cornelison. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Betsy Romines Cornelison of Acworth; son, Joe Cornelison and his wife Carol, of Kennesaw; daughter, Shandra Cornelison Cotter and her husband, Tom, of Acworth; brother, Rance "Jim" Cornelison and his wife, Susan, of Tennessee; grandsons, Tom Cotter, Brendan Cotter, and Ian Cotter all of Acworth; granddaughter, Jordan Cornelison of Kennesaw; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, April 8, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw. A Private, Family Service will follow at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Ledbetter officiating.
