Funeral services for Chestine Connell will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at 11:00a.m. at the Antioch Cemetery Chapel at Antioch Cemetery in the Luna Community. Bro. Darrel Beggs and Bro. Scott Matthews will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Antioch Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m.

Mrs. Connell passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at the Teague Nursing Home.

She was born in the Luna Community and attended school in Teague and graduated with the Teague High School class of 1947. She married Marion Connell in June of 1949 and made their home in Teague. Mr. & Mrs. Connell shared over sixty-eight years together. She enjoyed cooking and helping her husband work on their ranch in Luna. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Teague and volunteered with the youth group for many years while her son was growing up.

She is survived by her husband, Marion Connell of Teague; one son, Joe Keith Connell & wife Ann of Huntsville; two grandsons, Benn Marshall & wife Melissa of Plano, and Andy Marshall of Austin; two great-grandchildren, Kelsey & Beck; one sister-in-law, Louise Collins of Teague; one nephew, Mike Collins & wife Cathy of Waco; one niece, Kristie Carrasquillo; two great-nephews, Zach Collins and Reed Collins; one great-niece, Karina Carrasquillo; special cousins, Kerry Webb & wife Glenda, Clydell Webb & wife Carole Annn, Danny Webb & wife Nelma, Mary Lee & husband Don, Elwood Knight & wife Sandy, Albert Snell, John Snell, and Jerry Snell.

Mrs. Connell was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas & Ethel Collins; and one brother, Dulan W. Collins.
