WELL KNOWN MAN IS BURIED
Remains of Francis W. Parker Laid to Rest Thursday, April 19, 1917, in Greenwood Cemetery.

Not for a long while has a death occurred in Sauk Centre brought forth more profound sorrow than did that of Francis W. Parker, which came early Wednesday morning, April 18, 1917. Death was due to the reaction of pneumonia and congestion of the heart and liver.
He was born on January 13, 1857, at St. Charles, Ill., and came west with parents when he was but 13 years old. From then until his demise, he lived in and near Sauk Centre, securing and holding the friendship of everyone with whom he came in contact. He was a faithful and much beloved member of the Odd Fellow lodge and his funeral was held in their hall on Thursday, the nineteenth. Rev. Mr. Blake of Long Prairie conducted the services. A mixed quartette consisting of Mrs. Dock, Mrs. Compton, Mr. Wedge and Mr. Strebel sang three hymns which were favorites. Interment was made at Greenwood cemetery.
Mr. Parker is survived by four sons and two daughters, Venie of Minneapolis, Arthur of Moose Jaw, Canada, Clyde of Waterloo, la., and Julian of Hibbing; Mrs. J. H. Kuhn of Detroit, and Miss Annie, who will make her home in Detroit for some time.-Contributed.
CARD OF THANKS We wish to take this method of expressing our heartfelt and very sincere appreciation to the many friends who so kindly aided us in the illness, death and burial of our beloved father, the late Francis W. Parker. —The Children.
