Margaret Peggy Georgine Newman, age 60, of Albia, passed away on February 11, 2018, at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia surrounded by her loved ones.
Peggy was born on January 29, 1958 in Newton, Iowa to Donald and Darlene (Villont) Newman. She graduated from the Albia High School with the Class of 1976. After high school she received her Masters Degree in Business Management and Accounting.
Peggy worked for the Albia School District for 37 years as the Business Manager before she retired. Peggy was very spiritual and was an active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia. She was a very giving person who had a love for animals, enjoyed reading, and especially loved spending time with her granddaughter.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Jessica Newman (fiancé Luis Vazquez) of Albia, a granddaughter, Gracie Shelquist; a niece, Melissa (Lee) Major and several other nieces, nephews and good friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Darlene Newman; a sister, Marsha Newman and a brother, Fred Newman.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Trinity United Methodist Church with Peggys family present to greet family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia with Pastor Roger Henry Officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
An open memorial has been established to the family to be determined at a later date.
