Ola J. Brown, age 99, of Raleigh Court Health Care Center, died Thursday morning June 13, 1991. She was the widow of Silas C. Brown and a member of the Salem First Church of the Nazarene and a retired employee of Kenrose Manufacturing. She was preceded in death by two sons, Ervin R. Brown and Jesse W. Brown; and one daughter, Ethel B. Webster. Surviving are a one son, Robert L. Brown, Bent Mountain; two daughters, Mrs. Pearl B. Hall; Mrs. Cornelia B. Carr, both of Roanoke; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Clyde Bowles, Roanoke; Shannon Bowles, Carlton Bowles, both of Rocky Mount; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Moran and Chappie Firebaugh, both of Rocky Mount. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Leigh S. Elder officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 Friday at Oakey's South Chapel.
