James Aaron Gildon was born February 21, 1953 in Shreveport, Louisiana, to John Alvin and Ester Lee Weems Gildon. James was raised in Plain Dealing and graduated from Plain Dealing Academy in 1971. He married DeVon “Dee Dee” Nichols on May 12, 1972 and they celebrated 45 years together. James worked for International Paper Company for 10 years and later retired from TXU Mining as a mechanic after 21 years of service. Mr. Gildon was a member of the Carthage United Pentecostal Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry, and welding. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Marjorie O’Neal, and an infant daughter Wendy Michelle Gildon.
