Funeral service for Allan V. Babb, age 70, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Glenmora Church of Christ. Rev. Justin Simmons and Rev. Charles Seal will officiate.

Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

The family will receive visitors at Glenmora Church of Christ beginning Monday, February 12, 2018 from 4 to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Allan was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a lifelong resident of Glenmora as well as a lifelong member of Glenmora Church of Christ where he served as an Elder.

He served our country in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1972 on Aircraft Carrier Oriskany. He served as a First Class Petty Officer and a Radio Operator. He was ranked as an RD3 E-4 and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

Allan loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He was employed with Proctor & Gamble as a Tech-8 in the maintenance department for 35 years until his retirement. His “first loves” were his church, his family, and his grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Allan’s memory include his devoted wife of 52 years, Charlene (Cook) Babb, of Glenmora; three sons, Todd Babb and wife, Carrol, of Glenmora, Jason Babb and wife, Stacey, of Pineville, and Steven Babb and wife, Sunshine, of Glenmora ; two sisters, Eraine Clark and husband, Huey, and Jenny Carruth and husband, Zane, all of Glenmora ; 8 grandchildren-Tyler Babb and wife, Sara, and Donovan Billings and fiancée, Alyssa, all of Glenmora, Abigail, Madelyn, Benjamin and Tucker Babb, all of Pineville, and Jacob and Drew Babb, of Glenmora; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Allan is preceded in death by his parents, A.V. and Eva Babb; one niece, Stacey Clark; and one great nephew, Blake Kellogg.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers for the funeral service include grandsons, Tyler Babb, Donovan Billings, Ben, Tucker, and Jacob Babb along with Allan’s good friend, Ricky Moses.

Honorary pallbearers are Drew Babb, Tommy Melder, Noble Windsor, and David Morgan.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Christian Youth Encampment in care of Glenmora Church of Christ.
