World War II veteran
WATERBURY — Mr. Anthony A. Petto, of Waterbury, died Friday, March 30, 2007, at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Phyllis (Pelosi) Petto.
Mr. Petto was born in Waterbury, son of the late John and Amelia (Roberto) Petto. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 88th Infantry, having served during World War II. He worked for CL&P for many years before retiring in 1982 and was an active communicant of St. Lucy's Church, where he served as a reader and Eucharistic Minister, and he was a member of the St. Lucy's Holy Name Society. Mr. Petto was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th degree and a member of the Knights of Columbus Color Guard.
Besides his loving wife of 60 years, he leaves a son, John J. Petto of Waterbury; a daughter, Donna Marie Olivieri and her husband, John, of Watertown; four sisters, Susan Vuolo of Waterbury, Helen Gaudiosi of Seymour, Yolanda Zarrella of Bethlehem and Josephine LoRusso of Woodbury; two grandchildren, Eric and Anthony Olivieri; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Military funeral will be held Tuesday, at 9 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, to St. Lucy's Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Calling hours are Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Members of St. Lucy's Holy Name Society will meet at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
