Clara Edith Rogers Clark, 93, of Hendersonville passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 with family at her side in her daughter’s home.

She was born on March 14, 1924 to the late Selman and Alta Rogers. She was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister. Clara graduated Mission Hospital in 1945, worked at James Walker in Wilmington, NC until 1950 and then came home to her beloved mountains working as an RN at Pardee Memorial Hospital, Hendersonville for 26 years providing comfort to others until retirement in 1987. Clara was very active with her Edneyville High School Class of ’42. She was a member of the Hendersonville First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed her Sunday School class and the Women’s Mission Union. She loved traveling with her husband across the United States and abroad.

Clara leaves behind the love of her life, Carroll Edwin Clark, whom she eloped with 73 years ago to Conway, SC where they started their family with God in control of their decisions. She leaves behind four children, sons, Roger (Barbara) Clark, Hendersonville, Ronald (Becky) Clark, Huntersville, NC, daughters, Lynn Clark (Eddie Moses), Hendersonville, Lucy (David, deceased) Crawford, Hendersonville; nine grandsons, Dustin, Keally, Ian, Dru, Josh, Matthew, Seth, Jesse, and Cory; nine great grandchildren; and sister, Sharon Stepp of Hendersonville.
